This became clear during the performed by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Minister of regional development and public works Lilyana Pavlova inspection of construction works of “Trakia” Motorway junction in Nova Zagora. The facility is part of Lot 3 of motorway - Nova Zagora-Yambol. The inspection attended Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Simeon Djankov, as well as the member of the Management Board of the Agency "Road Infrastructure" Lazarinka Stoichkova.

The road junction “Nova Zagora”, km 242+366.40, is built under  the scheme “half cloverleaf”  and allows for the smooth crossing of the traffic along the motorway and the national road III-554 Nova Zagora – Radnevo.  The new infrastructure allows safe integration of the traffic in the direction-Orizovo – Burgas.  The intersection between “Trakia” Motorway and Road III-554 Nova Zagora-  Radnevo is through bridge with four exits,   with a total length of 72 m. The road junction is built by a month and a half earlier than projected in the timetable.

Within the site inspection, Minister Pavlova reported that the builders of the three lots of “Trakia” Motorway have been paid so far about 250 million BGN, which is over 51% of the value of the concluded contracts for construction. She stressed that some of the major road infrastructure projects, which are currently being implemented with co-financing from the Cohesion Fund of the EU through OP “Transport”, the construction works will continue throughout the winter season. The Minister of regional development and public works said that, this year the envisaged investments in road infrastructure are around 700 million BGN.

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov was pleased with what he saw on the site, and stressed that it was important to work qualitatively and timely. He described as speculations the allegations that the country had not recovered funds from the European Union. On the contrary, they have been recovered at 100%, said the Prime Minister

The Project “Completion of “Trakia” Motorway – Lots 2, 3 and 4” is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union through the „Operational Program on Transport“ 2007-2013.
