The Construction of Lot 3 of “Trakia Motorway” - Section Nova Zagora – Yambol to Start
On an official ceremony of road junction Nova Zagora, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov turned the first sod of the route with a length of 34,3 km.
According to the plan, the path will be four carriageways and will cost 111.6 million BGN without VAT, 80% are provided by OP “Transport”.
The Contractor assured that the latest engineering equipment and technologies will be implemented in the construction of the motorway and that Bulgarian builders will be engaged in the operation of the site.
The Prime Minister stressed that there will be created a special control unit of engineers, financiers and lawyers to coordinate and report monthly on the construction phase of the site.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Rosen Plevneliev, the Minister of agriculture Miroslav Naydenov, the Chairman of the Management Board of “Road Infrastructure Agency” Bozhidar Yotov, the Chairman of the Greek company-Contractor Dimitrios Kutras, mayors of municipalities, through which passes the route of the motorway “Trakia”.
The Project “Completion of “Trakia” Motorway – Lots 2, 3 and 4” is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union through the „Operational Program on Transport“ 2007-2013.
