Project Description
“Trakia”Motorway is part of Pan European Transport Corridor VІІІ. Its construction is a priority infrastructural project of national and international importance.
The total length of the project “Completion of Trakia Motorway lots 2, 3 and 4” is 115 km. The project is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the State budget of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013.
After the carried out tendering procedures the overall project value amounts to 524 478 899,88 BGL. 513 970 279,58 BGL of them are submitted as grant under OP “Transport”, 80 % of which are from the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
With the overall completion of the project “Completion of “Trakia” Motorway lots 2, 3 and 4” is expected to be achieved an increase in the average speed of 68 km/h to 101-105 km/h. According to the experts’ estimations, the road accidents shall be reduced by five times.
